Just saw the movie tonight with my daughter and son in law. We watched it mainly to see my aunt (Betty Walker) and was so happy to hear her (Yoo Hoo Mrs Goldberg was her line at the beginning of the show) and to see her as a young woman (even in curlers).
My daughter even saw one of her professors from Brandeis in the movie.
I knew nothing about Philip Loeb but did know how painful that time in US history was for actors.
I guess the movie will affect each viewer differently and I'm grateful for Aviva continuing her fine, fine work

I bought "Something on My Own" by Glenn D. Smith, Jr. who was featured in the film. Harriet is quoted at length on what it was like being the child of a famous mother. She and Cherney died within a month of each other in 2003. Her husband and daughter, Dr. David Schwartz and Ann, gave their memories of "Grandma Tillie" in the film.

Dear Eileen,
Hi Eileen,
I just read your comments about Molly Goldberg. Unfortunately, your parents like so many of those times did not want to let anyone know they were Jewish for fear of the same thing happening in America.
I lost many family members in the holocaust in May, 1944 when the Nazi took all the Hungarians to the death camps.
I was blessed to have parents who taught me and my siblings to be a proud Jew.
I would like to suggest that you look back to your Jewish roots and enjoy the beauty of our religion.
